Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how a bespoke jewellery design becomes a paid order, when production starts, and how your consumer rights apply.
Who you are ordering from
Diamond Cut Atelier (“DCA”, “we” or “us”) is operated by [full legal entity and ABN]. These terms apply to Australian bespoke jewellery orders placed through the DCA portal. Your Design Concierge helps communicate your ideas and guide the process; DCA manages the quote, production and customer support. The legal supplier named here must match the entity on your checkout and receipt.
Your design and quotation
Your Member helps you prepare a design brief. Please check your specifications, ring size, reference images and any important date before submission. Inspiration images guide the design, while the final approved CAD and written specification record what DCA will make.
A quotation is valid for 48 hours from the issue time shown on it. Diamond and precious metal costs can move, including with the London price fix, so this short validity period helps DCA maintain its direct-to-source pricing. If the quote expires before you place the order, DCA will issue a new quote; the earlier price is no longer available. Any new quote must be approved before payment.
The current design process includes up to four design revisions. If further design work could incur a fee, DCA will explain the proposed amount and obtain your agreement before charging it. The quote or separate design consultation terms must state any applicable consultation fee and voucher treatment.
Final approval and full payment
Before ordering, review the final CAD version, written specification, stone and metal details, size, customer price and estimated timing. You must expressly approve these details and pay the full order amount shown at checkout. DCA will issue a payment receipt and confirm when production has commenced. A brief, render or unpaid quote is not a production order.
No changes once production commences
Once DCA confirms that production has commenced, the approved piece cannot be changed. This includes design, size, stones, metal, finish and engraving. Please resolve every detail before giving final approval.
Bespoke cancellations and change of mind
Once production has commenced, DCA does not accept cancellation, exchange or a refund simply because you change your mind. If you wish to withdraw before production commences, contact DCA promptly through your dashboard; DCA will confirm the status of work and any separately disclosed design consultation fee.
This policy does not remove your Australian Consumer Law rights. A bespoke piece may still qualify for a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy if it fails a consumer guarantee. Faults, a material difference from the approved description and non-delivery are examples requiring assessment. See Returns and Consumer Guarantees.
Production and delivery
Production generally takes at least four weeks from the date DCA confirms production has commenced. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date. Once the piece reaches DCA, quality checking and packaging usually take another two to three business days. Carrier transit time follows. DCA will advise you if the estimate materially changes. See Shipping and Delivery.
Product information
CAD renders depict the proposed piece but colour, lighting and scale may differ between a screen and the physical item. Natural stones have individual characteristics. DCA will identify whether diamonds are natural or laboratory grown and specify any grading report included in your order. DCA will seek your approval before a material substitution. Your consumer rights apply if the piece does not meet its approved description.
Problems and support
If you have a question, your piece arrives damaged, differs from the approved description, develops a fault or does not arrive, use the support icon in your customer dashboard and include your quote or order number. DCA will acknowledge your request and assess the appropriate response under the Australian Consumer Law. You do not need original packaging or to report a fault within an arbitrary short period to retain statutory rights.
Personal information and messages
DCA handles account, design, payment and delivery information as explained in the Privacy Policy. Your assigned Member may see information needed to support your design journey. Order and service notices are separate from optional marketing communications.
Your Australian Consumer Law rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If these terms conflict with those rights, the law prevails.
Before publication
DCA must insert the correct legal entity and ABN, confirm that full payment and the production commencement notice match the implemented workflow, and verify separate consultation fee and voucher terms. Australian legal review is required before publication.
